Privacy Policy

Kuwait Investment Company (“KIC”) is committed to protect, preserve, and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of its clients' personal and financial information. While providing its financial services to its clients, it collects and observes client personal and financial information. KIC hosts and maintains physical and electronic safeguards and security procedures to prevent any unauthorized access/intrusion to company's and clients' personal and financial information in protection of any misuse. The client's personal and financial information is only allowed to designated KIC Staff and under continuous monitoring and multi-level security systems following standard security procedures. When the client open/operate/maintain his account with KIC, or apply for a financial product or service, KIC may collect the following types of information:

  • Information provided online by the client and on applications or other forms, or given to a customer representative during discussions by the client or his agent, such as name, address, civil id/passport data, date of birth, income, employment information, investment experience, risk tolerance, and other information about the client's personal investment goals or objectives.
  • Information about the client's trading and financial transactions, such as portfolio positions, account balance, trading activity, account history, and other similar activities.
  • Information about the client from consumer reporting agencies and other third parties, such as banks or credit rating agencies.
  • Information that the client provides to KIC about financial/banking accounts for financial products and services.
  • Technical, navigational and other information transferred when visiting KIC websites or trading applications, such as IP address, device type and browser type.
  • Client's contact information used by KIC to inform him of new products and services.
  • Client information gathered and aggregated from various sources, including but not limited to accounts and transactions. This data, maybe used for research for product development purposes, client product and service customization, or other type of reporting; consistent with applicable law.

KIC may disclose client's information to make its products and services, as well as those offered by others through its channels, available to clients. If the client withholds any information, it may limit his ability to receive the products and services he requested. KIC does not disclose any information of its former clients to anyone outside the company except as required and permitted by law in order to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement agencies.


KIC may disclose client's personal information to the following entities:

  • KIC affiliated companies.
  • Financial companies to jointly market financial products and services.
  • Non-affiliated third parties that perform services, such as marketing or market research, on the behalf of KIC (e.g., we may provide your name, address, phone number, or e-mail address to vendors that send our e-mail or regular mail).
  • Companies that serve, maintain, or process your transactions and accounts (e.g., companies that provide administrative, telecommunications, computer, trade execution, payment and securities clearing services, and that prepare and mail account statements and transaction confirmations and other services in connection with the operation of KIC business).
  • Non-affiliated third parties as permitted or required by law, or to cooperate with government agencies or regulators, securities exchanges, executing brokers, clearing houses, and law enforcement officials (e.g., for reporting suspicious activity or transactions).
  • Non-affiliated companies in order to protect against actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions, and to protect the security of our records and systems, unless prohibited by law.
  • Non-affiliated third parties at the client directions or for which the client has provided his express consent (e.g., banking or financial institutions with which he has or propose to have dealings).
  • Non-affiliated third parties in connection with the proposed or actual financing, insuring, sale, and securitization related to KIC business or assets (including accounts) for the purposes of evaluating and performing the proposed transaction.

As stipulated, such information shall be exchanged and/or used for limited purposes only, and with the persons to whom it was intended to be disclosed, or as permitted or required by law.

KIC products and services and the channels used to deliver it (such as but not limited to: website, streaming application, mobile, call center…etc) may contain links (external or embedded within) to third-party entities (such as but not limited to: data and news providers, research providers, …etc). These entities have their own privacy policy and additional terms and conditions of use that the customer is urged to review before usage as agreeing to access such content is on the client's sole responsibility.
